NO PARTY (1) is a promising gelding who has needed time to mature. He was spelled after failing to fire at Riccarton as the favourite over 1400m earlier in the year. He might already find 1200m short of his best, but being on the fresh side, this race is still within his grasp. On top. AFIRE (7) was well beaten in her last run at Riccarton at Stakes level over a mile. She boomed home to score on this track before that when clearing her maiden status, and will be hoping to do the same here fresh up. Don't risk her. SABOTS D'OR (5) was hampered by a pair of wide draws in her last couple of starts before having a well-earned spell.
