EMIRATE STAR (5) enjoyed stepping up to 1600m for the first time last start, going under narrowly at this track after travelling closer to the speed. That run should tighten her up nicely. Looks ready to break through. LEON RUBEN (9) came from next to last to be beaten just a length in the same race as Emirate Star here a fortnight ago. Has had plenty of chances and there is less scope for improvement than the top pick, but he still warrants plenty of respect. ADAPTATION (4) settled just behind the leaders but struggled to let down and missed the placings over 1300m at Hawkesbury recently. Looking for this sort of trip at the third run back from a spell. Likely improver. ROULADEN (2) placed at the first three runs of the prep then pulled up lame last time in a run worth overlooking. Best form stacks up. WHAT SHE'S HAVING (11) wasn't far away here a fortnight ago and is rock hard fit fourth-up.
