THINKING GOLD (13) made it two minor placings from as many appearances this prep when a game third over the mile at Doomben last Saturday, beaten under a length. Progressing well since coming to Queensland this prep. Perfectly placed out to this trip third-up. AMPLIFY (4) settled last then made up many lengths in soft ground to finish fourth last time out over this course and distance. Not a fan of wet tracks so the effort was full of merit. Major player if the track is posted as good on race day. BLUEPINOT (5) hasn't lived up to market expectations of late. Backs up a week after a fair effort over 1630m at Doomben. Maloney going on might be the key point of difference this time. BARBRAY (10) started a move mid-race and was far too good for a BM62 field over 1600m at the Sunshine Coast recently. Up in grade but can go on with it now. I AM THE EMPIRE (1) is going poorly but could surprise after a switch from Sydney to Brisbane off a one-month let-up.
